We recognise our responsibility to protect children, young people, vulnerable adults and anyone who may require additional support.

Our Approach

We aim to:

  • Treat everyone with dignity and respect.
  • Provide an environment free from discrimination, harassment or abuse.
  • Ensure volunteers understand their responsibilities.
  • Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.

Children and Young People

Children and young people are welcome at Kidbrooke Repair Café.

Children under 16 should normally attend with a parent, guardian or responsible adult unless a specific arrangement has been agreed.

Volunteers should avoid being alone with children or vulnerable adults where possible.

Vulnerable Adults

We recognise that some visitors may need additional support.

Volunteers should:

  • Communicate clearly and respectfully.
  • Avoid making assumptions about someone’s abilities.
  • Ask before providing physical assistance.
  • Report concerns to the organiser.

Reporting Concerns

If someone has a safeguarding concern, they should speak to the Kidbrooke Repair Café coordinator.

Concerns will be taken seriously and handled confidentially.

Where appropriate, concerns may be referred to relevant safeguarding organisations.

Photography and Media

Photos or videos may only be taken and shared with appropriate consent.

Visitors and volunteers can request not to be photographed.
