Our Commitment

Kidbrooke Repair Café is committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive and respectful environment where everyone can participate, learn and share repair skills.

We believe repair is for everyone, regardless of age, background, experience level or ability.

Our Principles

We aim to:

  • Treat everyone with dignity and respect.
  • Provide a friendly and welcoming community space.
  • Encourage participation from all members of the community.
  • Remove barriers that prevent people from joining our activities.
  • Value different skills, experiences and perspectives.

Volunteers

Volunteers are welcomed regardless of their previous repair experience.

We encourage people with different skills and backgrounds to contribute, including:

  • Experienced repairers
  • People learning new skills
  • People interested in sustainability
  • People supporting community activities

Everyone should feel comfortable asking questions and learning.

Respectful Behaviour

All visitors and volunteers are expected to:

  • Treat others respectfully.
  • Communicate politely.
  • Avoid discriminatory or offensive behaviour.
  • Support a positive community environment.

Behaviour that causes harm, harassment or exclusion will not be accepted.

Feedback and Concerns

We welcome feedback about how we can improve accessibility and inclusion.

If someone experiences a concern, they should contact the Kidbrooke Repair Café coordinator.

Concerns will be taken seriously and handled appropriately.

Review

This statement will be reviewed annually or when significant changes are made to Kidbrooke Repair Café activities.
